New Logistics Fuel Card offers flexibility, speed

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — A new Logistics Fuel Card will allow military and federal agencies to buy small quantities of specialty fuel this spring. To improve customer service and provide more flexibility, DLA added the card to its commercial fuel card solutions so customers can fill storage tanks from commercial sources worldwide when short-notice requirements arise.

DLA chemist leading efforts in alternative fuel, other DOD bulk fuel initiatives

FORT BELVOLIR, Va. — Lindsey Hicks has served the Defense Logistics Agency as a pioneering chemist for over 30 years. He is currently the program manager leading DLA Research & Development’s Energy Readiness Program supporting the Defense Department’s bulk fuel and energy supply system. ERP’s strategic focus areas are fuel refining and distribution, fuel instability and contamination issues, and alternative fuel certification efforts.

Strategic, joint fuel planning

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Operational fuel requirements and strategic planning were the priorities of the Joint Petroleum Seminar Feb. 7-8. DLA Energy hosted the seminar for members of the military petroleum community to collaborate and plan for current, future, and emerging energy needs in the joint petroleum arena.
