Richmond, Virginia –
Employees from Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Jacksonville, Florida, fostered a friendly holiday competition against Navy employees from Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s Avionics Shop by challenging each other to raise the most toys in support of the annual Toys for Tots Program.
The competition took place between Nov. 17 to Dec. 15 with six boxes of toys and 10 bicycles collected between the two groups.
DLA Aviation at Jacksonville employees won bragging rights by collecting four boxes of toys and three bicycles. Employees turned in the items on Dec. 15, which were given to children in need in the Greater Jacksonville area.
The Toys for Tots Program is run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Each year, new toys are collected across the country and donated to children in need in the communities where the campaigns are conducted.
