Hildrich selected as deputy DLA Distribution Red River

Fred A. Hildrich became deputy commander of DLA Distribution Red River, Texas on Jan. 8, 2017. 

A native of southeast Missouri, Hildrich enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1986 and served 22 years. He participated in numerous operational tours with the Combat Service Support Detachment 36, 1st Light Armored Infantry Battalion, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, Marine Air Support Squadron 2, and Marine Wing Support Group 17. He also deployed in support of combat operations during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. In addition, he served as the S4 for Support Battalion at Parris Island, S.C., and worked as a canvassing recruiter in San Antonio, Texas. 

After retiring from the Marine Corps in September 2008, he went to work for DLA Distribution Expeditionary, serving first as the operations officer in the establishment of DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan– Okinawa, Japan. He continued assignments as operations officer with DLA Distribution Expeditionary in Beaumont, Texas, during Hurricane Ike relief efforts, and Australia during Talisman Saber 2009. In 2010, serving as the operations officer, he deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, for the initial establishment of DLA Distribution Kandahar and later that year he participated in the World Food Program Pandemic exercise in Mombasa, Kenya. The following year he became the site manager at DLA Distribution Deh Dadi-II, Afghanistan, for the establishment of the Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point. In 2012, he participated in a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise, Balikatan 2012, in Puerta Princessa, Philippines, as the DLA Distribution Expeditionary officer in charge. He was the site manager at DLA Distribution Portsmouth, Va., and then served as the deputy commander of DLA Distribution Sigonella, Italy, prior to his current assignment. 

His military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Achievement Medal, and the Navy-Marine Corps Parachute Insignia along with other various awards. Hildrich holds a bachelor’s degree in transportation and logistics management. His civilian awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award (two), Superior Civilian Service Award, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, North Atlantic Treaty Organization ISAF Medal, and the Humanitarian Medal.
