Viewers of Armed Forces Network-Korea will be a getting a closer look at the Defense Logistics Agency thanks to a new information spot about the DLA Disposition Services at Gimcheon.
Area Manager Terry Harrington; Edward Forbes, the Area IV disposal service representative; and Air Force Master Sgt. Kenneth Pugh approached the AFKN station manager Victor Gardner to suggest the spot be produced. Once the station agreed, Forbes said the Gimcheon staff was very enthusiastic about the project. Ung Ku Kim was among the staff to appear in the production demonstrating his skills in using a forklift to move items received at the site.
"I feel like a great Hollywood talent, maybe I can win an Oscar," Kim said.
Pugh also appeared in the production during the last scene. He said it was an honor to show the military role in DLA Disposition Services. He believes the production will be an effective tool in reaching a broad range of military clientele.
“Our goal is to broaden their thoughts and get their outreach to our services to support the mission requirements and needs of the warfighter,” Pugh said.
Forbes said station crew members were able to gather the video footage they needed in one day followed by another two weeks for production work to complete the project. In light of the Yongsan Relocation Plan and the Land Partnership Program, Forbes said the Gimcheon staff is using as variety of mediums to educate customers on disposal operations. He and staff look forward to enjoying the spot over the next 12 weeks.
