CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –
Emily Fernandez, a distribution process worker at DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, has been named DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016.
Fernandez provided outstanding job performance and extraordinary support from July to September 2016, by completing more than 1,800 Logistics Management Program receipts, more than 90 transshipments, 20 corrections, 50 suspensions and almost 50 re-classifications.
Fernandez’s experience in the LMP system has allowed her to recognize and address possible issues in advance, seek possible solutions and keep the process flowing. Multi-tasking and decision-making have proven to be among her best qualities while assisting with daily planning, complex research and technical knowledge to identify the customer actions needed to expedite frustrated material.
Additionally, Fernandez routinely provides assistance to Corpus Christi Army Depot material master data specialists and maintenance requirements planning specialists to resolve issues with suspended stock. She keeps customers aware of current status, promoting excellent customer relations and creates welcoming correspondence with the customer to resolve issues and prevent future obstacles.
Furthermore, Fernandez promotes a positive environment and welcomes the challenge of complex research tasks. Always willing to share her knowledge with co-workers, she encourages the team to work together, combining their problem solving skills to overcome the challenges encountered on a daily basis.
Fernandez recognizes opportunities to maximize time for next-day planning. Her most recent improvement addresses outstanding wide area workflow invoices, by running a weekly Department of Defense Activity Address Code query and processing the acceptances available. This also allows for advance research to be conducted prior to the customer receiving delinquent notification and the ability to provide immediate response.
“Ms. Fernandez’s achievements are a prime example of the outstanding support and ‘warfighter first’ dedication that our customers should expect every day,” said DLA Distribution Corpus Christi distribution process worker supervisor Tila Serrata.
