Trevor Downing, supply technician at DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, has been selected as DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of fiscal year 2017 for his job performance and support to the customer.

According to his supervisor, Blessings Foster, Downing distinguished himself with his dedication to the inventory mission through his superior performance as the ADHOC and denial coordinator.

“Mr. Downing is a self-starter, never deterred by the complexity or magnitude of the task at hand and can be relied upon to see that it is completed expeditiously and efficiently.  He has the ability to anticipate problem areas or external factors, which made a great impact on inventory accuracy and planning ahead,” said Foster.

As the ADHOC coordinator, Downing was responsible for managing nearly 1,000 Floor-to-Book inventories, ensuring that locations were accurate during the process.  During this time, he also researched 160 potential denials, counting 100 locations and verifying over 10,000 assets, ensuring that inventory locations and owner balances were accurate, which in turn ensured assets were ready for the customer without delay.

His contributions resulted in DLA Distribution Corpus Christi maintaining a to-date denial rating of .05 percent, the lowest in DLA Distribution Corpus Christi history.  As a result, he saved the distribution center millions of dollars in valid Material Release Orders, ensuring material was picked and ready for shipping with zero discrepancies.

“Mr. Downing’s ‘can-do’ attitude made a great impact on inventory integrity and DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, as a whole, by maintaining a state of audit readiness compliance.  His impeccable work ethic, attention to detail, and resourcefulness contribute to his success at supporting DLA and the warfighter,” said Foster.
