An investigative analyst at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation in Richmond recently received the first-ever award recognizing the top civilian security specialist across all of DLA Installation Support.
Donald Bartlett received the Installation Support Security Specialist of the Year Award Dec 15. Bartlett gathers, updates, summarizes, and reports on activities that threaten the mission or personnel at the Defense Supply Center Richmond and tenant activities. In doing so, he works closely with the local Joint Terrorism Task Force, other federal agencies and the greater Richmond community.
A panel of three judges reviewed nine nominations, choosing two finalists to forward to Patrick Wright, staff director of Security and Emergency Services at DLA HHeadquarters, who made the final choice.
In presenting the award, Wright noted: “The enterprise security team’s role is critical to the success of the DLA mission and directly supports our DLA Strategic Plan by addressing and mitigating risk to ensure the resiliency and security of the DLA mission and workforce.”
Wright said the award was created to increase recognition for civilian security specialists by acknowledging the critical work they do across DLA Installation Support.
