Distribution’s Lewis promoted to lieutenant colonel

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

DLA Distribution’s Army Maj. Christina Lewis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during a Feb. 2 ceremony officiated by DLA Distribution commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi.

The Distribution Future Plans EUCOM/AFRICOM planner was surrounded by friends, family and coworkers as she had her new rank pinned on by her niece, Ally, and then recited the oath of office.

“As I think about Chris Lewis and her tremendous leadership, a few words come to mind.  Intelligent… articulate… highly effective…. unselfish… and humble…. It’s those attributes which have led the Army to select her for this next level of responsibility and to also select her for battalion command,” said Laskodi.

Commissioned in May 2001 from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, Lewis was branch detailed as Air Defense Artillery (ADA) officer for two years, with a main branch of Ordnance.  She served as the company commander of Golf Forward Support Company, 2-82 FA Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cav Division (CD) in Mosul and Fort Hood.  Her other assignments include Headquarters/Maintenance platoon leader, Delta Battery, 2-1 ADA Battalion; shop officer, 178th Maintenance Company, 2-1 ADA Battalion; Battalion S-4, 2-1 ADA Battalion; readiness officer, G-4 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command;  deputy J4, Detainee Ops, Multi-National Force–Iraq; Brigade S-4, 31st ADA Brigade; SPO plans officer, 215 Brigade Support Battalion, 3/1 CD; Brigade S-4, 3/1 CD; SPO, 215 Brigade Support Battalion, 3/1 CD; Distribution Integration branch chief, 3d Expeditionary Support Command, XVIII Armored Brigade Combat Team and executive officer, Officer Readiness Division, US Army Human Resources Command.
