What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically?

As a customer support specialist lead, I am responsible for processing and working unfilled orders for DLA Aviation - Cherry Point’s Component Requisition Cell.

What do you like most about your job?I like working as a team, ensuring that we are giving our best each and every day to support the warfighter.

 

What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role?

After retiring from the Marine Corps working in transportation and logistics, I was employed with an aerospace and defense multinational corporation as a repair control coordinator, a material handler, a tools and parts attendant, a supply technician and an equipment specialist. These positions provided experience learning warehouse operations, in depth research and analysis techniques, reviewing blueprints and publications, updating and maintaining material master records, and reviewing material requirements. I feel that helped pave the way to my current position as a customer support specialist lead.

If you could speak directly to the warfighters you support, what would you tell them?

I know where you are as I have been there many times myself and the many challenges that you face on a daily basis. I will continue each and every day to give my best to ensure that you have everything you need to complete the mission of keeping this nation safe. 

Who is the most influential person in your life … past or present?

I think it would be my mom as she has always taught me and my brothers and sisters to do our best in anything we do.  

 

What is your favorite military aircraft? Why?  My favorite aircraft is the AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopter because of the many capabilities it has.

 

What is your proudest accomplishment?  Retiring from the Marine Corps after almost 21 years, the experience and training I achieved while on active duty, and the friendships along the way.

 

What is/are your favorite television show(s) or movie(s)?  “NCIS” and old Western movies.

 

What type of music do you most enjoy?  I enjoy various types including country and some rock and roll.
