DLA Troop Support employees donate 4,000 meals to neighbors in need

By Alexandria Brimage-Gray DLA Troop Support Public Affairs

In their tenth year of participating in the campaign, employees at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support donated more than 3,000 pounds of food to the Feds Feed Families food drive.

Each year, DLA Troop Support’s employees’ food donations are collected and delivered to Philabundance, a hunger relief agency in Philadelphia that serves 90,000 people weekly in nine counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

“The generous donation of 3,931 pounds from DLA Troop Support helps to provide nearly 4,000 meals to our neighbors in need,” Cheyenne Pritchard, a Philabundance associate, said.

The Feds Feeds Families initiative is a U.S. Department of Agriculture-led campaign that runs annually from June through August in which federal employees donate much needed supplies for food banks.

While the employees of DLA Troop Support are eager to donate to Philabundance each year, it is, the staff of Philabundance and those on the receiving end who are the most grateful.

“Philabundance’s mission is to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever,” Pritchard said. “On behalf of Philabundance and those we serve, thank you for all of your hard work on this year’s Feds Feed Families food drive.
