Joint Reserve Force director lauds reservists’ contributions to DLA mission

By DLA Public Affairs

The Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force provided a unique blend of knowledge and capabilities in support of DLA’s worldwide mission throughout 2018, according to a new video message from JRF Director Navy Rear Adm. Deborah Haven.

“Providing our expertise and resources to support DLA missions, the JRF enables solutions, reduces backorders and improves readiness,” she said.

More than 150 reservists took part in 19 exercises during the year, including Rim of the Pacific and Pacer Goose. In June, the agency tested its JRF expeditionary capability by sending an 11-member support team made entirely of reservists to Poland in support of Saber Strike.

Reservists also supported around-the-clock manning of the Joint Logistics Operations Center, conducted inventory reviews as part of the Real Property Task Force and assisted suspended stock tiger teams at DLA major subordinate commands.

Haven encouraged reservists to be proud of their contributions and continue striving for excellence.

“Over the next 10 months, our top priorities will be individual readiness, billet vacancies, support to the DLA mission and Strategic Plan, JRF culture, increased MSC support, integrated planning and training, and overall exercise efforts,” she said.
