Defense Logistics Agency Indo-Pacific Commander Navy Capt. Kristin Acquavella recognized DLA Intelligence Indo-Pacific Security Specialist Sheena Gufford as the 2018 DLA Security Professional of the Year March 8.
This award was established to recognize extraordinary performance of duties and outstanding contributions made by security professionals. The award provides an opportunity to show appreciation for excellent work and to motivate other employees to distinguish themselves as effective professionals with the security profession and organization.
Gufford accounted for many successes and program enhancements in Information Security, Personnel Security, Industry Security and Operations Security while supporting the entire DLA Indo-Pacific Region. She integrated herself within the DLA Indo-Pacific Command Structure, remaining current on all DLA Indo-Pacific plans and operations and directed, advised and provided oversight for all security personnel with the DLA Indo-Pacific area of responsibility. She competed against peers from across the agency and her selection speaks volumes of her work-ethic and outstanding customer support.
