Pinwheels on parade

Children from the Child Development Center marched in a parade with blue pinwheels on the Defense Supply Center Columbus April 23. The blue pinwheel and blue awareness ribbon are the official symbols of Child Abuse Awareness Month. Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Air Force Chief of Staff Col. Jeanette Ketchum served as the Grand Marshall and Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s mascot Rex-reation made a surprise visit. Participants “planted” their pinwheels near the CDC’s main entrance immediately following the parade. The parade was hosted by MWR Family Advocacy Program as the conclusion of April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month.
