Navy Region Southwest Commander Rear Adm. Bolivar visits DLA Distribution San Diego, California at Port Hueneme

Navy Rear Adm. Babette “Bette” Bolivar, commander, Navy Region Southwest visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, California, at Port Hueneme April 29 for a tour. Navy Capt. Jerome R. White, commander, DLA Distribution San Diego, California, and his team provided a tour of the Port Hueneme operations in building 475, a building shared with National Science Foundation personnel. Both agencies provide critical support for the U.S. Antarctic Program. 

Bolivar’s position is well known throughout the Navy as the role of the Naval shore installation manager and regional coordinator for the Southwest Region (California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico). Installations in her region include Naval Base Coronado, Naval Base Point Loma and Naval Base San Diego—as well as major air stations in Lemoore and Fallon, Nevada.

In 2010, DLA Distribution San Diego, California, assumed responsibility for operations from the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Port Hueneme as part of the Navy Warehouse Transfer to DLA. DLA Distribution San Diego, California at Port Hueneme is a Department of Defense logistics support provider for the U.S Antarctic's Research Program and Operation DEEP FREEZE.  It also supports NAVSEA Warfare Center, Expeditionary Warfare Center as well as Navy Mobile Construction Battalions throughout the Pacific.
