Reduced Operations at disposal sites Sept. 9-20

By Jake Joy DLA Disposition Services

DLA Disposition Services sites worldwide will observe two weeks of reduced operations Sept. 9-20 as agency personnel conduct a required annual inventory of all items in the organization’s possession.

Requisitions for military units with a critical mission need will continue to be honored and picked up/shipped during the inventory to avoid impact to mission readiness. Other customer business will be affected.

Reutilization, Transfer and Donation customers may not screen property on site during the inventory. However, they can continue to place requisitions using the online ordering system and will be notified when property is ready for pick up or shipment once a site has concluded its inventory.

Customers may experience a reduction in available local turn-in appointments during the inventory period. There will be no scheduled deliveries unless there is demonstrated mission impact/emergency requirement for the turn-in of excess DoD property. For emergencies, customers can contact the area manager or the established disposition site point of contact.

“We have to make sure all of our on-site inventory matches what is shown in our financial and property accounting systems in order to earn a clean audit,” said Annual Inventory Project Manager Mike Rogers. “We understand that our reduced operations will temporarily inconvenience some of our customers, and we thank them in advance for their patience as we ready our sites for another year of outstanding warfighter support in fiscal 2020.”
