NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
U.S. Marine Corps Col. Tiffany N. Harris took command of DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California during a ceremony held Aug. 16.
"Harris is a gifted leader and the right person to continue the strong and outstanding leadership that we have had at San Joaquin,” said Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones, commanding officer, DLA Distribution. “Tiffany has served in a variety of command and staff assignments.”
Harris most recently served as the assistant chief of staff (G-3) for the 3D Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan. She has held multiple staff and command positions from the company to battalion level over her career since she was commissioned through the Platoon Leader Combined Class in 1995.
Notably after her battalion command, she was selected as the Academic Year 2016 Marine Corps Fellow to the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Harris had multiple overseas assignments to include two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. Harris’ personal decorations include the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5th Award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd Award).
Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Harris has B.A in Psychology from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
