Lee takes command of DLA Distribution Puget Sound, Washington

Navy Cmdr.  Evelyn Lee took command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Puget Sound, Washington, during a ceremony held Aug. 23.

“Commander Evelyn Lee is the right person to continue the strong leadership that we have had at Puget Sound,” said Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones, commanding officer, DLA Distribution. “Evelyn is no stranger to the Defense Logistics Agency. Her most recent assignment was as chief of staff with the audit task force at DLA.”

According to Lee’s biography she served afloat with the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) and the USS Chosin (CG 65), earning Chosin the seventh consecutive Logistics Excellence Award. She also served a tour as director, Joint Logistics Planning Center; Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, Djibouti, Africa.

Lee is a 1993 graduate of The University of Memphis, Tennessee, earning a bachelor of business administration degree in information systems and decision sciences. She earned her master of education degree from Vanderbilt University in 1997. Lee is also a 2014 graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College.

She is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, and earned her commission in July 2001 through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.

“I’m confident that DLA Distribution Puget Sound will continue to meet all challenges head on under your leadership,” said Jones.
