RICHMOND, VA –
Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford toured the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, Oct. 21 as part of his initiative to cultivate strong partnerships with local civic, educational, military and veterans organizations.
During his visit, Sanford received a briefing from director J. Ronald Johnson and other members of the leadership team about the services provided to veterans at the facility. Services at McGuire are available to more than 200,000 veterans coming from 52 cities and counties covering 22,515 miles of central and southern Virginia and parts of northern North Carolina.
After the briefing, Sanford spent about 45 minutes touring various departments, including the Prosthetic Treatment Center and Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder Department.
