Richmond, Va –
Ghost, goblins, superheroes, princesses and many other costumed characters came out for the first installation Halloween Trunk or Treat event Oct. 31 in the Community Recreation Center.
The event, open to anyone with installation access, included children from the Bettye Ackerman-Cobb Child Development Center and Defense Supply Center Richmond employees’ children and grandchildren. Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Office sponsored the event.
With bad weather pending, the event was moved indoors, but the enthusiasm was still high. MWR staff and event sponsors, employees and the installation’s fire department set up 14 themed tables, passing out candy to around 100 children and parents. Sparky was also a hit, visiting with the children.
Prizes were awarded in the following categories:
-Best decorated trunk was won by Karen Daniel, a DLA Aviation product specialist.

-Best group/family costume was won by the Henderson family whose mother, Tiffany and daughter, Brailynn, dressed as convicts and while dad,Brandon, was dressed as a sheriff. Brandon works in the Powhatan County Sheriff’s office and Tiffany is a DLA Aviation acquisition specialist.
