BATTLE CREEK, Mich. –
Lead Resource Analyst Makana Oliviera is the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services category four Employee of the Quarter for the start of fiscal 2020.
Oliviera said she grew up in Honolulu and graduated from Waianae High School before earning a degree in human services from the University of Hawaii. She began her federal service with U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii in 2005 and worked for Army for more than a decade before joining the DLA Disposition Services Pacific region team in 2016.
She said her duties include advising region leadership in financial management, administrating the operational budget, monitoring personnel actions, handling travel requirements and mentoring and training region resource analysts.
“It is an honor to be selected as Employee of the Quarter,” Oliviera said. “I am blessed to be a part of such a great agency that supports the warfighter as well as its team members.”
In her award recommendation, she was cited for important contributions to regional audit readiness “by scrubbing [the fiscal 2020] funds tracker and recovering an excess of $166,000 that we were able to Budget Base Transfer back to Disposition Services for further use.” She was also cited for her successfully oversight of orders and requests, allowing “all sites to obtain funding for 100% of their requests to support the mission. Additionally, Makana maintained an impressive 95% efficiency rate for all hiring actions.”
