Utah materials examiner honored

By Jake Joy DLA Disposition Services Public Affairs

Materials Examiner and Identifier Jerald Dewolf is the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services category one Employee of the Quarter for the start of fiscal 2020.

Dewolf said he grew up in Utah, graduating from Valley High School in Riverton in 2006. He enlisted in the Air Force in 2008 and specialized in ground fuels for six years, deploying twice and serving in Illinois, Germany, and at Utah’s Hill Air Force Base. He was discharged as a senior airman and came to work for DLA Disposition Services at Hill, where he grew into a site leadership role.

“I love my job, being able to help teach our people how to achieve their goals and learn their jobs to the best of their ability,” Dewolf said. “I would not have been able to get where I have if it was not for the amazing team we have here at Hill. We strive to be the best and will continue to work toward that goal.”

Dewolf’s award nomination said “his loyalty to DLA is a model for aspiring wage-grade employees. … [His] selfless volunteerism to maximize production every Saturday contributed to 9,242 receipt documents during November.” His “benchmark efforts” were also cited for helping Hill achieve full mission production capability at 10 work stations during a headquarters tiger team assistance visit, helping maximize the site’s consolidated receipt production capability.
