FORT BELVOIR, Va. –
Defense Logistics Agency employees have until June 30 to support those impacted by the coronavirus through a temporary reopening of the Combined Federal Campaign. A Defense Department memorandum authorized the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to reopen the campaign outside its regular season.
DOD has worked closely with Department of Health and Human Services and other federal agencies to support response efforts, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said in the May 27 memo.
“As the world deals with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, many DoD personnel have asked how they can help relief efforts as private citizens,” he added.
CFC provides a secure venue for federal employees to contribute to more than 6,000 qualified charitable organizations. Donations can be made to one or more of the local, national and international organizations included in the 2019 CFC Charity List through the CFC pledge portal or the CFC mobile application. Employees may give a one-time donation or recurring payroll deductions. One hundred percent of the donations go toward designated charities.
Funds raised through June will count toward 2020 CFC campaign goals, and donors may make new payroll deduction pledges for 2021 during the CFC open season later this year.
