For exemplary performance in his primary duty as a packer at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Anniston, Alabama, Hershel McRath received the Outstanding Employee with a Disability Award for 2019.
McRath’s work ethic and drive for excellence have made him an invaluable part of the Storage Division. He often took time away from his workload to assist other areas by moving material. His attention to detail and desire for excellence are an example for our other storage personnel.
McRath played a primary role in the Packing, Packaging, Preservation and Marking section, maintaining accuracy and productivity standards throughout the whole year. In addition to his everyday workload he constantly assisted others in their workload ensuring the timely shipment of freight.
McRath was able to build comradery within the team through his unique sense of humor and his natural competitiveness which creates a desire for excellence within those around him. He made it a habit of assisting others, both superiors and peers.
McRath’s demeanor, confidence and spirit of cooperation have been highly commendable during numerous crisis management situations. He assisted with packing over 3,000 work orders without any discrepancies during calendar year 2019. Largely due to his expertise, PPP&M did not receive a single valid supply discrepancy report related to the packing and shipment of assets to the warfighters. His accomplishments significantly contributed to the improvement of global distribution excellence.
McRath always displayed a high work ethic, which had a positive effect on his co-workers. His supervisor relied on his experience and knowledge daily, especially on special projects. Every day, in everything he does, McRath’s work ethic shines through. McRath is more than an employee, he is a role-model.
