By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Marine Brig. Gen. Keith D. Reventlow, commanding general, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, promoted Army 1st Lt. Trevor Madsen, Distribution aide-de-camp, to the rank of captain during a virtual promotion ceremony Sept. 1. Madsen’s parents and siblings, unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions, watched the ceremony live via social media.

Reventlow provided brief remarks, stating that, “Serving in DLA and DLA Distribution provides you with a joint service perspective. Not every Army lieutenant or captain has that opportunity. Take advantage of it.” He added that the aide-de-camp position is a great career stepping stone as every day is a new and exciting challenge and learning experience – with a unique and big picture view of Distribution.

“What you learn during this tour will enhance your career – you’ve got to be hungry and build on that knowledge to progress through your Army career,” said Reventlow.
After the promotion order was read, Reventlow pinned the rank of captain to Madsen’s uniform.

A native of Spencertown, New York, Madsen received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont, while also participating in the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps, earning a commission as a 2nd Lt. Following commissioning, Madsen attended the Ordnance Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Lee, Virginia.

Upon completion of BOLC, Madsen was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, where he spent four years in 1st Calvary Division, 2nd Brigade, 108 Calvary Regiment, Hotel Forward Support Company serving as maintenance platoon leader, maintenance control officer and company executive officer.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the DLA Distribution team,” said Madsen. As a young adult, he said he always had a notion to serve his country following in his grandfather’s and older brother’s footsteps. Understanding many people have given their lives serving our great country, he believes it is his inherent duty as an American citizen to serve and defend.
