DLA Distribution’s Holtan awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

For her efforts in leveraging every possible resource of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Operations to support a critical national priority mission, Mobilization Planning Specialist Elise Holtan is awarded the Super Civilian Service Award.

During a critical mission requiring alignment with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, U. S. Northern Command and U.S. Army North, Holtan was instrumental in leveraging and coordinating the efforts and personnel of DLA Troop Support, DLA Distribution and the DLA Agency Synchronization and Operations Center. Her unwavering devotion to duty meant she supported daily meetings, even on weekends and holidays.

Her efforts ensured over 102,000 rolls of concertina wire, 4,000 rolls of barbed wire, 175,000 pickets, 60 shipping containers, 85 tents, 6,000 items of personal protective equipment, 32,000 map products, 21,985 cases of meals ready to eat, and 132,925 gallons of fuel were delivered to customers operating throughout Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California.

By way of remote and face-to-face engagements from October 2018 through May 2019, Holtan coordinated efforts across multiple stake holders as she maintained a direct line of communication open with DLA and major subordinate commands.

In addition to her direct efforts, Holtan also trained partner organization employees in processes to track and monitor material movements to ensure that all stake holders were properly supported.

Holtan was responsible for the creation and delivery of information and updates to keep senior leaders and decision makers informed. Her reports – seen at the highest levels of DLA – made their way to briefings given at the Secretary of Defense and Secretary of Homeland Security level.

Holtan’s professional dedication and devotion to her duties reflect great credit upon herself, the Defense Logistics Agency and the Department of Defense.
