DLA Distribution San Diego conducts training on active shooter response

By Matthew Mahoney, DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, San Diego, California hosted Naval Base San Diego Police Department officers Dec. 16, 2020 to participate in training to simulate an active shooter event.

The training was intended to provide DDDC employees as well as NBSD officers an opportunity to experience in person training regarding active shooter scenarios that would act as an enhancement to standard online training courses.

“To table top or listen to a PowerPoint about an active shooter is good, but actually going through one and seeing how law enforcement reacts is even better,” said Marcus Palamara, security officer, DDDC. “Plus, it opens everyone’s eyes and gets them thinking about what they need to do, their surrounding area and what to expect from law enforcement.”
