JOINT REGION MARIANAS, Guam –
For most, summer means vacations, but for the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services Contingency Overseas Readiness Exercise team it means training.
The team deployed to Guam to demonstrate how they could support the warfighter with a prepositioned Expeditionary Site Set in a forward location, questions about communication equipment developed.
The team reached out to the joint unit Marianas IT supervisor Dan Noble for support. He was able to assist with their questions and then asked some of his own about COREX’s mission.
Noble then asked if the team could take a look at some excess antennas and lend a hand with the turn-in process.
Jason Evans a property disposal specialist from DLA Disposition Services site at Hill Air Force Base and Navy Petty Officer First Class Michael Marbut, both of the COREX team took a look at the property to see what could be done.
After looking at the items and doing some research on just what they were looking at the team gave Noble the good news. The items could be turned in and Evans offered to assist them with the paper work.
“That stuff has been out there sitting for a while,” Noble said. “We didn’t know exactly what to do with it or how to get rid of it, so the fact they came in and took a look at it and said they could help us out is great.”
“They were overly excited since they don’t really turn in a lot of property,” Evans said. “In the past five year this is the only thing they have turned in.”
Evans added that it was the mission of the COREX team to assist units with property disposal and he, Marbut and the rest of the COREX team were happy to help.
