NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Jada Weaver, the supervisory contract specialist at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution headquarters, was named the 2021 Global Distribution Excellence Acquisition Workforce Individual Achievement award winner.
Weaver’s major job responsibilities include overseeing a team of contract specialists and supervisory contract specialists and acting as a contracting officer. Her team procures and administers large, complex, and high visibility distribution and warehousing support service contracts for DLA Distribution and its customers.
Weaver was surprised that she was nominated for the award.
“I was shocked at first, but I am very grateful that efforts have been recognized,” she said. “This is really a team recognition award and they have worked extremely hard. It has been a tough couple of years with challenging requirements and new work and I think this is recognition of the team’s hard work and dedication. I am fortunate to have such intelligent and top-notch professionals who have incredible skills, knowledge and work whatever is needed to get the job done and share information to make things more efficient. We have amazing internal and external customers who focus on the mission, which helps our acquisitions run more smoothly.”
Weaver’s team has had a lot of new and changing requirements the past few years with the pandemic and was presented with new challenges to ensure support to all customers. The team has had a lot of pre-award efforts while working through unique post-award issues and complex close-out actions for incentive and cost contracts. They worked closely with their Defense Contract management Agency and Defense Contract Audit Agency counterparts to support rate finalization and contract incorporation in recent years and the team has excelled at addressing issues timely and balancing all the needs requested with it.
