Describe your job in a sentence or two.

Serve as principal staff assistant, advisor and champion for safety and resource management to the regional director. Manage and oversee the budget and ensure proper execution of the budget lines, which includes Defense Travel System, government purchase cards, and other programs within the directorate.

What is your area of responsibility?

Europe and Africa, sites based in seven countries from England to Djibouti north to south and Turkey to the Azores, east to west. 

How long have you worked for the federal government including military service?

39 years.

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services?

15 years.

What is your favorite thing about your line of work?

Working side by side with the military.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

Join the Air Force.

What is your favorite memory with DLA Disposition Services?

Returning home after deployment to Afghanistan.

What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?

Honesty.

How would you describe your leadership style?

Situational.

A chance to keep serving the military.

What do you look for when evaluating top talent?

Integrity, good communicator, team player, willingness to take on the tough tasks.

What do you believe is your biggest accomplishment and why?

Being a parent and husband. Watching my kids become good, caring adults that have successful lives.

What do you see as your biggest challenge right now?

Finding creative ways to provide disposal support for operations on the African continent.

What was your first job?

Newspaper delivery, the Alvin Sun, published on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Mechanical engineer.

Hobbies?

Traveling and reading.
