Describe your job in a sentence or two. What do you do specifically?
I supervise seven Japanese national employees. I make sure that my employees receive and inspect property correctly and that they have all the turn-in documents with the items.
How long as a fed, including military service?
15 years.
How long with agency?
Four years with DLA Disposition Services and three years with DLA Distribution.
Good memory of DLA Disposition Services?
My deployment to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, in the fall of 2019. I was the only WS that was deployed there at that time.
What part of your job is most satisfying?
Knowing that our customers are getting the best support they can get.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?
Everybody makes mistakes. You just need to learn from them and move on.
What training helps in your current role?
Knowledge that I have learned while I was in the Air Force. I attended Airman Leadership School while I was in the service and attended HRM, BBI and LEAD as a civilian. Those gave me the knowledge and experiences on how to work with different types of people.
Your significant contributions this year in your job?
Teaching class to military and civilian customers on how to do a proper turn in.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself gaining more knowledge and experiences. Moving into higher positions in the organization.
Something most don’t know about you?
I was a Navy brat, but I never followed my dad’s footsteps. I went into the Air Force instead. But I did follow in his footsteps when he worked for DLA Disposition Services.
What do you appreciate about the job?
The amazing staff that we have here. Also, my previous and current area manager, who gave me opportunities for better training and career progression.
Your first job?
Food service. Worked at Taco Bell.
Biggest influence?
My mother, who worked so hard to get me a better life. She was a single mom who supported me all by herself before she got married. She taught me that you can do anything. Do not let anyone tell you no.
Interests outside of work?
I love to travel and go sightseeing with my family.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A fighter pilot. Close enough; I was an aircraft armament technician for the Air Force. I worked on the B-2 and the F-16.
Your hero?
My mom.
If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
Just hang out with my family with no distractions from the world.
An adventurous thing you’ve done?
Ziplining across the tops of the forest in Okinawa.
