Tell us a little about your job.

I assist customers by researching and advising to ensure effective property turn in. Promote the reuse of excess property by means of explaining the Reutilization/Transfer/Donation program to various local commands. Educate customers and promote the Disposition Services Korea mission.

How long have you worked for the federal government, including military service?

33 years.

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services?

9 years.

Any agency memories worth sharing?

When I first started working for DLA DS as material examiner and identifier, I was tasked with unloading a huge airplane wing off a semi-trailer using a forklift. That made me a little nervous, to say the least.

What do you like about the job?

Just being a part of a great team. Working in Disposition Services is demanding and can get frustrating at times, but working with great team who are willing to step in and help makes even the worst situation better.

Receive any good advice worth passing on?

Attract positivity and take action. Every time we talk about an issue or consider a plan, I was told to focus on the positive aspects of the issue or outcome and then proceed to take action. Committing to your work with positive thoughts – your passion will shine through – ultimately leading to positive outcomes.

What, if anything, would you tell warfighters?

I would promote, educate, and train warfighters on reutilization, transfer, and donation (RTD) programs and assist them with screening and property acquisition.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

In a leadership position.

Something most people don’t know about you?

An avid motorcycle rider and I love to work on old cars. And on weekends, when time permits, exploring hiking trails in the area.

First job?

Warehouseman.

Biggest influence?

My dad.

Read any good books recently?

The Lost Symbol” by Dan Brown.

Interests outside work?

Spending quality time with family and, when given a chance, working on classic cars or motorcycles.

What is your favorite quote?

“Results, not excuses.”

What did you want to be when you grew up?

An engineer.

Who is your hero?

My Dad.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

Fishing.

An adventurous thing you’ve done?

During Desert Storm, underway at sea for 53 straight days.
