Tell us a little about yourself.

Texas native, a Marine Corps veteran, and Disp Svcs served in multiple DLA Disposition Services capacities to include HQ. Love to travel, always looking for a new challenge, and my zen = family.

What is your area of responsibility?

State of Hawaii.

How long have you worked for the federal government, including military service?

35 years.

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services?

19 years.

Your favorite thing about this line of work?

People and service.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

Take Care of Number One First!

Any noteworthy memories with DLA Disposition Services?

The Big Challenge: Successfully transporting PCBs out of Japan in the early 2000s under very close regulatory and public scrutiny (unauthorized to dispose of PCBs in Japan), to return in 2015 to Japan as area manager and establish the first in-country PCB disposal contract in Japan. Full cycle.

Is there a characteristic every leader should possess?

What is your leadership philosophy?

Take care of number one, so to take care of team, so to meet mission in a safe and compliant manner (same holds true to family and life in general).

How do you approach change?

Change is a constant, so approach with open arms and embrace.

What do you look for when evaluating top talent?

An individual’s self being.

Any best practices for achieving goals or accomplishing tasks?

Assess, plan, execute and sustain.

What might prevent people from being successful?

A sense of entitlement.
