Can you tell us about yourself?

I am retired Navy and grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma. I took a position downgrade so my family could be closer to my father as he gets up into his golden years.

Describe your job in a sentence or two. What do you do specifically?

I work in the warehouse and ensure that all employees, including myself, are working and functioning as a team.

How long have you worked for the federal government including military service?

US Navy 20 years and 14 years with Department of Defense.

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services?

I have been with DLA 2 years, 7 months.

What is your favorite memory with DLA Disposition Services?

There are quite a few but the one thing that I will always think of is the camaraderie that the Fort Sill crew has.

What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction and why?

Seeing our warehouse workers giving 100% and finishing work well before the time you would think it would have taken to accomplish the task. Also, watching everyone start working on tasks before even being told to do them.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

To be a good leader, you have to pretend it’s a tug of war game and that it’s your responsibility to ensure that everyone on your team is pulling the rope the same direction.

What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role?

Learning Management System Training and completing other training that isn’t required but I take it to expand my knowledge on the big picture.

What would you say has been your major contributions to your organization this year in your job?

It would have to be taking an expanded role in all around duties due to a manpower shortage.

If you could speak directly to the warfighters you support, what would you tell them?

We are here for you!

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Getting ready to retire again!

Tell us something that most people might not know about you or your directorate?

My father is from Guam, which some people have no idea that it is a US territory. They think it’s some foreign country or do not even know it exists.

What is your best memory of working here?

Camaraderie! I can’t say it enough! Best group of people that I have ever worked with!

What was your first job?

It was at a Grocery Store.

Who’s your biggest influence?

My Wife.

What are some of your passions outside of work?

Off-Roading and road trips.

What is your favorite quote?

"Failing to plan is planning to fail." -Benjamin Franklin.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Millionaire.

Who is your hero?

My parents.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

Go Off-Roading.
