As you are aware I will turnover command of this great organization today to RADM Chip Chase.
Before I do, I wanted to say it has been my honor and privilege to serve as your Commanding General. I have seen so many successes during my tenure but what is truly important about DLA Distribution is its people. Despite the geographical separation of nearly 10,000 Distribution employees, you share a distinct bond singularly focused on striving for excellence because that’s what our men and women in uniform deserve.
My goal as Commanding General was to ensure the organization’s relevancy. Combined with the many initiatives underway and your commitment, sense of duty, and professionalism, the organization is well on its way—you make it happen. You have accomplished a lot over the last two years supporting our men and women in uniform, our whole of government partners, and other Federal agencies….and it is important to note that we did it all while continuing to safely operate during the pandemic.
In closing, thank you for what you do every day and for what you have accomplished. You are truly second to none. The challenges brought before you, become opportunities, then the opportunities turn into extraordinary successes. Hard-working; Dedicated, Resilient and always ready for the next challenge…that is our DLA Distribution workforce.
