DLA Distribution Anniston recognizes the diverse efforts required to succeed

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Anniston, Alabama, regularly recognizes the outstanding efforts of their diverse work force and what their combined efforts contribute to the DLA mission of warfighter always.

Accuracy, insight and instruction

Vanessa Gamble, supply technician, is also the manager for all government purchase card and base operation support systems material orders for mission critical support at DDAA. Gamble has demonstrated continual attention to detail with zero deficiencies in monthly and annual government purchase card audits for the past eight years.

Gamble’s attention to detail is crucial in preventing work stoppages and facilitating mission success. In addition to her efforts as the only contact for GPC material, she also trains and provides continued guidance to other employees in various supply chain processes.

Her ability to both lead and be a team player has made Gamble critical to the continued success of DDAA.

Above and beyond

James Hanna, supply specialist, maintains his warehouses at 98% inventory accuracy and engages with outlying material while still performing his normal duties of pick, pack and stow.

Hanna’s consistent adherence to procedure, attention to detail and constant pride in his work is the combination to success at DDAA.

Safety is mission accomplishment

Robert McDaniel, preservationist, has demonstrated countless vital acts to the success of DDAA and his attention to detail has made the work environment safer.

In addition to his normal duties of regular and on the spot safety inspections, McDaniel completes multiple monthly reports to ensure safety and environmental compliance are in good order. Whether fire, hazmat, ladder inspections or de-fueling of vehicles, McDaniel is an intelligent, committed and compassionate member of the DDAA team.

Key to the success to the delivery of 120 engines to Korea, McDaniel would personally test over 200 radio frequency identification tag lithium-ion batteries to determine which ones would be good to successfully complete the mission.

DDAA has cultivated a team built around integrity, diversity, mentorship and serving the warfighter.
