PUGET SOUND, Wash. –
Defense Logistics Agency Puget Sound, Washington, displayed information at a Veteran and Native American Job Fair Nov.16. The event, hosted by United States Pacific Fleet on the Navy Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, was attended by over 325 job seekers and 35 vendors. Three employees represented DDPW -- Meredith Ellringer, human resources liaison, Alair Woods, program and management analyst and Nicholas Reddin, lead material handling equipment instructor.
The booth featured a display and handouts for potential employees to learn about the agency and the services provided to the warfighter. As an added feature, DDPW provided a QR code for job seekers to scan, linked directly to the DDPW jobs available on the USA Jobs website. Twenty attendees took a photo of the QR code to continue checking the link for new opportunities with DDPW.
As job seekers stopped by the booth, they asked questions about DLA and open jobs. Twenty-five attendees were encouraged to apply for open positions and one applied while at the job fair.
