What is your job title and what do you do specifically? I am a contract administrator. It is a very demanding, yet very fulfilling position that has a direct impact with regards to supplying material to the warfighters who protect this country.

How do you support the warfighter? I support the warfighter by building a strong rapport with vendors and internal and external customers, negotiating contract delivery dates that are in line with agency readiness and by deescalating and addressing contract related discrepancies. I assess, analyze, and research contract deficiencies and discrepancies that could cause potential delays in the supply chain.

What do you like most about your job and why? What I like most about my job is knowing that at the end of the day, my efforts have made a difference in supporting the warfighter, the mission, and the agency.

What is your fondest memory of working for DLA? My fondest memory of working for DLA Aviation was winning the Employee of the Month after only a couple of months in the role as an intern and then most recently, winning the Certificate of Achievement in June for exceeding the monthly metric.

If you could speak directly to the warfighters you support, what would you tell them? I would thank them for the countless hours of protection to our country. I have always wanted to serve in the military, but for health reasons, I was unable to do so.  However, I am grateful for the opportunity to still serve in this capacity.

Professionally, where do you see yourself five years from now?  Professionally, I see myself as a branch chief or division lead. Leading and directing teams has always been my passion and expertise.  I love to both learn and lead. I consider knowledge to be the gateway to success.

What are some of your passions outside of work? Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, planning parties and enjoying life. I love being a mother to my three children and being an influential part in their lives. I love planning parties with creative themes and activities. I am passionate about living life and enjoying the people that are connected to me.

What is your proudest accomplishment and why? My proudest accomplishment was landing this job I’m currently working here at DLA Aviation in Richmond. I have always aspired to work with the government, but I wanted my position to be rewarding and showcase my leadership qualities. I know for sure this position allows me to build and nurture the natural born leader in me. I am proud to serve as a contract administrator.
