RICHMOND, Va. –
Defense Logistics Agency Aviation December 2022 Employees of the Month Kenyetta Cunningham and Marcos Charles have tackled additional tasks and challenges with success and demonstrated a superior ability to exceed expectations within their sections at DLA Aviation.
Employee of the Month is awarded to DLA Aviation non-supervisory civilian employees. Two recipients are selected based on individual general schedule pay levels – one from GS 1-9 (Category 1) and one from GS 10-13 (Category 2). Recipients receive a coin, a certificate of achievement from the DLA Aviation Deputy Commander Charlie Lilli, and a cash award.
Cunningham, a management analyst within DLA Aviation at Warner Robins, Georgia’s Administration Staff Division, received the Category 1 award.
Cunningham’s primary duties include overseeing the records management, human resources liaison, special emphasis and audit administration programs, as well as filling a vacant position as the commander’s administrative assistant at Warner Robins.
Per the award citation, Cunningham’s assistance and mentoring in direct support of the 2022 Combined Federal Campaign resulted in $892,669 in fund-raising contributions for the region.
Throughout the rating period, Cunningham also served as one of the ambassadors for the 78 Air Base Wing Civilian Health Promotion Services for DLA Aviation Warner Robins. “Cunningham has disseminated valuable health information and scheduled monthly free health screenings for DLA Aviation WR personnel,” states Administrative Staff Support Division Chief, Jimmy Tran. “Her proactiveness with the program led to a healthier life and workforce.
“Being recognized as the employee of the month for December is so unexpected yet refreshing,” said Cunningham. “I was reminded that my efforts and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and I am on the right path leading to success. I am just so grateful!”
Marcos Charles is a sustainment specialist within DLA Aviation at Ogden, Utah’s Planning and Support Division. He was named the Category 2 award recipient.
Per the citation, Charles manages a workload of over 600 national stock numbers valuing over $3,000,000 and provides assistance in support of the Industrial Prime Vendor Generation III contracts list. Through Charles’ diligence, 18 NSNs were moved to supportable status by expediting their purchase orders.
Throughout the rating period, Charles also stepped-up to take control of another 200 NSNs for the 533RD Maintenance Squadron. He aligned the production schedule resulting in bring 88 end items valued at $387,472 to completion and delivered on time to the customer, thus achieving 90% material availability in this high visibility project.
“Charles continuously excels as a top performer within DLA Ogden’s 533RD Commodities Maintenance Group’s Planning and Support Section,” said the group’s section chief, Liskey. “His positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile puts him at the top of the sustainment realm.”
