DLA Distribution Europe employee named in DLA top 10

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Juan Morales Martinez was selected as one of the Defense Logistics Agency’s Top 10 DLA Employees of the Year, as part of the agency’s 55th Annual Employee Recognition Awards. In addition to an award, Martinez also received a signed note from the DLA Director, Navy Vice Adm. Michelle M. Skubic, commending him for his commitment and dedication to the agency.

Morales Martinez was selected to be part of this distinguished group for his solid contributions in the theater shipping and consolidation point for the mission at DLA Distribution in Europe. Morales Martinez independently shouldered 80% of the container loading operations at DDDE and expedited the customs inspections process for materials destined for overseas, loading 315 containers with zero issues from ports or customs.

Morales Martinez managed work in process in the over ocean container section, including managing the prioritization of the work. Due to his meticulous efforts, ship times for over ocean material dropped by 20%. A true leader and team player, any difficult task that needs to be accomplished, he is always there to help out. He leads by example which encourages his peers to show the same level of commitment to the mission.

“Juan is a value added team member who is relied upon heavily and respected by all. We are proud of him, his achievements, and grateful that his work ethic and contributions are being recognized through this prestigious award”, stated DDDE Commanding Officer, Army Lt. Col. Kimberly Rembert.

It has been a notable year for Morales Martinez. Earlier this year, he was selected by the National Institute Packaging Handling Logistics Engineers with their Handling Achievement Award for 2022. When asked to comment on his recent significant personal awards, per his character, he deflects and says they were really team awards and he is just part of a team.
