PHILADELPHIA –
For the past three months, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees have been readjusting to being back in the office two to three days a week, offering more opportunities for collaboration as well as morale and relationship building.
The Medical supply chain Cultural Improvement Team recently took advantage of such an opportunity by hosting a chili cook-off on March 29.
Medical employees submitted their chili dish, with DLA Troop Support leaders having the tough job of serving as judges.
“All the chilis submitted were delicious,” said Diana Stewart, Command Support Office director and one of the judges. “It was difficult, yet tasty, trying to determine the winner.”
Although not serving as judges, employees in attendance were able to sample all the submissions.
“The turnout for the chili cook-off was great,” said Beverly Varnadore, a contract specialist in the Medical supply chain. “It was wonderful to see everyone after so long…I can’t wait to taste the chili.”
As employees readjust to the new in-office normal, more in-person events provide opportunities for relationship building and comradery.
“How well we can come together as an organization [helps us] work together to support the warfighter,” said Medical Director Army Col. Matthew Voyles.
