Name: Marlon Wentz

Organization: DLA Aviation at Oklahoma City

Years of service to DLA: 12.5 years

What is your job title and what do you do specifically? As a supply technician, I process orders for aircraft engine parts placed by the production control technicians for the mechanics. When the replacement parts are processed and sent to me, I restock them and enter the receipts into our electronic parts database.

How do you support the warfighter? While processing orders for jet engine parts, I ensure the correct national stock number and quantity are sent to the mechanics. My efficiency has a direct effect on maximizing the production process of the aircraft used to empower our national defense system.

What do you like most about your job and why? My job gives me a fantastic feeling of accomplishment since I know I have an important role in maintaining the aircraft that support our nation’s security. I have the best co-workers and supervisor in this mission who are quick to assist me on more difficult tasks. Everyone has a pleasant disposition, and they care very much about my well-being.

What is your fondest memory of working for DLA Aviation? My fondest memories of being a part of DLA Aviation are the Christmas parties and picnics.  It gives me the opportunity to connect with coworkers that I haven’t seen in a while. The food is always good at these events, but the people are the best. Working at DLA is like having a second family.

What is your favorite military aircraft? Why? The Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II is my favorite aircraft. I’m impressed by its ability to fly quietly when so close to the ground on low-level runs.
