NORFOLK, Va. –
Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, hosted its Health, Safety and Wellness Fair, April 17.
The annual event was postponed for the last three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic but came back stronger than ever in 2023.
“Safety is a part of everything we do. So, I’m glad we were able to do this event again and emphasize the importance of safety while having fun in the process,” said Mark Creekmore, DDNV’s deputy commander.
The fair brings together organizations from across military installations in the Hampton Roads area, such as the Fleet and Family Support Center, the Social Security Administration, Morale, Welfare and Recreation and others.
Nine organizations set up tables, provided information and supported the workforce all under one roof at DDNV’s Pier 8 Warehouse for the day-long event. While focused on safety and wellness, there was also music, food and of course, fun. Numerous safety related competitions were held including the Forklift Rodeo as well as Safety Jeopardy.
