CAMP CARROLL, South Korea –
Army Staff Sgt. Siris A. Alma was promoted to the rank of Sgt. 1st Class during a May 12 promotion ceremony on the first floor of the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Korea warehouse.
DLA Distribution Korea employees and other distinguished guests attended the ceremony. Additionally, the ceremony was streamed via Microsoft Teams and Facebook Live for family, close friends and others to view remotely.
Alma is a native of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. She enlisted into the Army in January 2008 and attended Basic Combat Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, followed by Advance Individual Training at Ft. Gregg-Adams, Virginia for the Military Occupational Specialty 92A, and Automated Logistic Specialist. Alma joined DLA Distribution Korea on March 9, as the Material Management non-commissioned officer.
Since arriving at DLA Distribution Korea, Alma has been a very active volunteer with the Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers as their senior leader. She is also a champion of Sexual Harassment/Assault and Prevention and ensures DLA Distribution Korea remains involved and committed in events held at Camp Carroll, Camp Walker and Camp Henry. She has a welcoming personality and is highly respected across all services.
