PHILADELPHIA –
Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support held a civilian retirement ceremony in honor of Joseph O’Hagan on June 29, 2023, here.
“Today’s ceremony is extra special to me as I am honored to officiate my very first ceremony at Troop Support,” said DLA Troop Support Commander Col. Landis Maddox, who presided on the ceremony. “Celebrating the long-standing career of Joseph O’Hagan.”
O’Hagan retires with 39-years of service to the warfighter. During his tenure, Joseph held various positions to include Item Management Instructor, Supply Process Analyst, Logistic Reassignment Monitor, and his final role as Order Management Branch Chief in the Order Fulfillment Division, Business Process Support Office.
Maddox welcomed Joseph’s wife Jennifer, and their son James.
“A great part of one’s success can be attributed to their support system,” said Maddox. “That includes your love and support of Joseph.”
“I wasn’t very good, but I did play softball,” said O’Hagan. “In my years of playing, I only hit one home run in my entire life, and I did it on the field here. I will never forget Troop Support for that reason.”
During his retirement years, O’Hagan plans on coaching his best buddy and son, James, in baseball.
“Throughout your career, you have taken advantage of opportunities that provided you upward mobility,” said Maddox. “No matter how many of these ceremonies that I officiate, I’m always amazed at the experience, range and impact of the contributions made by those who are retiring.”
