COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime leadership hosted a site visit with DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler at Defense Supply Center Columbus July 26.
The visit reinforced the ongoing partnership between the sister supply chains that manage millions of spare and repair parts worldwide for thousands of ground, sea and air-based weapon systems.
Kenneth Watson, deputy commander for DLA Land and Maritime, and Doug Nevins, acting acquisition executive, joined Tyler for a supply chain briefing followed by a tour of the Mechanical Product Test Center led by PTC staff. The center fulfills mechanical testing requirements on various products, and in recent years has led more than 2,400 projects supporting DLA Aviation. Tyler was able to see firsthand how the testing facility helps ensure DLA provides its customers with quality products in a reliable, cost-effective and timely manner.
Future in-person collaboration between DLA Land and Maritime and DLA Aviation counterparts is set for later this summer at DSCC, mirroring the robust 2022 session that brought together experts from both teams to discuss challenges and strategies.
