PHILADELPHIA –
Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support held a civilian retirement ceremony in honor of Annemarie Ervin on August 31, 2023.
“Annemarie Ervin is retiring after an illustrious government career of 46 years,” said DLA Troop Support Commander Army Col. Landis C. Maddox, who presided on the ceremony. “That is almost a half century of dedication and support to the warfighters around the globe.”
Ervin began her federal career in July of 1977 as a clerk stenographer in the subsistence supply chain. She is most proud of her involvement in the introduction of several Army uniforms— especially the implication of the black berets as the official headwear item for the Army.
In 2020, Ervin repositioned to her current role as a supervisory customer account specialist in the medical supply chain.
“DLA Troop Support was a great place to work,” said Ervin. “Yes, there were days I did not want to come in but—majority of the time—I was proud to work here and support the warfighter.”
“I am really going to miss this place, but I am surely looking forward to my next journey,” Ervin said.
During her retirement years, Ervin looks forward to spending time with her husband Jim, and their family.
“Your time here has made an enormous difference and impact to DLA,” said Maddox. “Not only to the accomplishment of the mission but [also] to the people you have mentored, coached, trained, led and supported along the way.”
