PHILADELPHIA –
Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support skills were on full display as six employees competed in a talent show on Sept. 21. The organization’s Culture Program and Culture Improvement Teams hosted the event to encourage employee participation in the 2023 DLA Culture Climate Survey.
Entering the auditorium with matching hard hats and glittered glasses, Troop Support Commander Army Col. Landis Maddox, Deputy Commander Kishayra J. Lambert, Executive Director William Kenny and Chief of Staff Robert Ratner, served as judges for the competition and provided detailed feedback after each performance.
In a filled auditorium, audience members were treated to vocal, instrumental, turntable spinning and poetry reading performances. The audience was actively involved as people sang and danced along.
“This was such a fun event! I enjoyed seeing each of the performers and realizing how much talent the DLA Troop support family has,” said U.S. Air Force Logistics Management Specialist Nicole Sheleva.
Winner of the event, Procurement Process Support Office Business Process Analyst Roseanne Sarkissian, performed on the piano to a standing ovation by the crowd. Roseanne, who is planning her retirement from DLA, is looking forward to “include more students, more gigs and being able to practice for hours without interruptions!”
Maddox expressed his appreciation of Sarkissian’s performance.
“I closed my eyes and I was in New Orleans on Bourbon Street having a brown beverage and listening to some nice jazz,” he said.
Other winners include Supply System Analyst, LaTosha Wray, in second place and Tailored Vendor Logistics Specialists, Jason Kelleher and Chuck Zerambo coming in third.
DLA provides employees the opportunity to participate in the Culture Climate Survey every 18-24 months to get feedback on necessary improvements within the organization.
“For over 15 years, the DLA Culture Climate Survey has resulted in the establishment of many long-standing Troop Support Programs,” said DLA Troop Support Management and Program Analyst Kimberly Maund, who served as emcee of the event.
Employees are encouraged to make their voice heard in this year’s survey. The 2023 DLA Culture Climate Survey is open until Sept. 30.
