COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s Navy Cardboard Regatta is back. The much-awaited event will be held Oct. 11 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus.
Boats will launch at noon from the Eagle Eye Golf Course pond. All associates are invited to attend and cheer on the competitors. Two-person teams compete in heats of four, with the championship round pitting top finishers from each heat against each other. Only one team will walk – or swim – away with the trophy but all will enjoy getting into the spirit of the race.
The regatta is held annually to celebrate the U.S. Navy’s birthday and showcases a range of watercraft created by Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, veterans and civilians using nothing more than duct tape and cardboard. The 2023 cardboard fleet will feature entries from the Navy Talent Acquisition Group, DLA Land and Maritime’s Army and Navy staff, and the DLA Product Test Center among others.
Teams interested in competing should contact Andrew.Walker@dla.mil. Sept. 29 is the final day to enter.
