PHILADELPHIA –
The Defense Logistics Agency Vice Director Brad Bunn visited DLA Troop Support in Philadelphia Nov. 8 to discuss ongoing modernization efforts within the Construction and Equipment supply chain.
Bunn, as well as DLA Information Operations Director Adarryl Roberts, Strategic Capabilities and Processes Director James Johnson and Enterprise Resource Planning Transition Project Management Office Director Russell Wells, spoke with DLA Troop Support and C&E leaders about the current mission to modernize DLA processes, including the supply chain’s digital acquisition systems.
“Modernization efforts have been going on for a few years now and it is critical that we get it right,” Bunn said. “Like most big projects, Troop Support has been leading from the front. You started on this before other elements of the agency, and I know how important these business lines are to the enterprise and most importantly, to the warfighter.”
The vice director stressed that any transition to newer acquisition platforms should not disrupt the mission of supporting the military and Whole of Government partners.
The C&E team also briefed Bunn on their varied logistics programs, increased partnerships with other government organizations like the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, and their support of small businesses.
“We are a large contributor to small business,” C&E Deputy Director Tom Grace said. “About 90 percent of Troop Support’s small business comes from C&E. I think that speaks to the criticality of our programs and some of the metrics we serve across the enterprise.”
During the trip, Bunn also recognized employees from across DLA Troop Support for their outstanding efforts within the workforce.
