FORT BELVOIR, Va. –
The DLA Foundation is offering scholarships to students who have a close family connection to a current or past civilian or military Defense Logistics Agency employee.
The scholarship application window starts Feb. 26 and will close April 16 at 11:59 p.m. Award announcements will take place in June.
A child, stepchild, grandchild, niece or nephew of a current or former DLA military or civilian employee is considered to be a close family connection.
Up to 30 scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded. Merit and financial need are the main criteria for judging applications, according to DLA Foundation members.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are high school seniors or college students who will attend an undergraduate school, or a trade or technical school as a full-time student in academic year 2024-2025 with 12 semester hours.
Appointees to military service academies are not eligible.
Students must have at least a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The requirement for submission of either SAT or ACT scores by high school seniors is no longer necessary. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid Student Aid Report will be used to determine financial need. The maximum Student Aid Index in the FASFA that will be considered is 15,000.
In addition to scholarships from the foundation’s general fund, there is one $2,000 scholarship that will be awarded through a donor-funded scholarship in honor Frank Lotts to a student who is pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or math.
Application forms and documents are available at the DLA Foundation website. Applicants can get detailed guidance about the application.
The DLA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a non-federal entity not affiliated with the Department of Defense.
